Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the TagSnap mobile app handles information. TagSnap does not require an account and does not sell personal information.

Vehicle records stored on your device

Vehicle nicknames, plate numbers, states, vehicle types, registration dates, reminder preferences, and subscription-entitlement cache are stored in the App's local storage on your device. TagSnap does not upload those saved records to a customer database or provide cloud sync.

Optional AI image processing

AI prefill is optional and available to TagSnap Pro subscribers. You may always enter vehicle details manually. After you select or capture an image, the App shows a disclosure and does not upload the image unless you choose Continue with AI Prefill.

If you continue, the selected JPEG or PNG image is sent over HTTPS to TagSnap's Vercel-hosted scan function. The function forwards it through Vercel AI Gateway to an AI model provider to extract a possible plate number, state, expiry date, vehicle type, and confidence. The result is returned for you to review and edit before saving locally.

TagSnap's application code does not write the image or extracted result to a database or object-storage service, and the response is marked not to be cached. AI Gateway requests are sent with per-request zero-data-retention routing, which restricts processing to providers covered by Vercel's zero-data-retention controls. Vercel and service providers may retain limited operational and security metadata such as request time, status, model, usage, latency, network information, or safety signals under their policies and legal obligations.

Do not scan a document you do not have permission to use. AI results may be incomplete or incorrect; verify every field against your registration document.

Camera and photo-library access

Camera access is used only when you choose to photograph a registration sticker or document. Photo-library access is used only when you choose an existing image. TagSnap does not scan your library in the background. The source photo remains subject to your device and Photos settings.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, TagSnap schedules reminder notifications on your device. Delivery is controlled by iOS and your notification settings. TagSnap does not run a remote push-notification customer service for these reminders.

Subscriptions

Apple processes TagSnap Pro purchases and payments. The App reads StoreKit product information and subscription status needed to unlock Pro features; TagSnap does not receive your full payment-card details. Apple's privacy terms apply to App Store transactions.

External registration-resource links

TagSnap may open a public motor-vehicle or registration website in your browser. Those third-party sites are not operated by TagSnap, and their privacy practices apply once you leave the App. A link is provided for convenience and is not a guarantee of availability, eligibility, or official affiliation.

Retention and deletion

Because saved vehicle records are local, you can remove a vehicle in the App or delete the App to remove its local records, subject to device backups controlled by Apple and your settings. Deleting the App does not delete source photos kept in your Photos library. Subscriptions can be managed or cancelled through your Apple Account.

Children

TagSnap is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
